It was wonderful to see every child in the school taking part in our House Poetry Competition today. The children performed in house groups and were awarded points for clarity, volume and performance. We were very impressed with the effort everyone put into their recitations.
Our Year 6s are having a wonderful week of adventures at Yenworthy Lodge in Devon. As well as activities such as rock climbing, coasteering and rock pooling, the children will get the opportunity to develop their problem solving and team work skills. A fun filled week is guaranteed for everyone!
Windmill Class thoroughly enjoyed their visit to Woodstock Museum. Their workshop included a visit to the museum’s unique dinosaur garden with its life size Megalosaur, genuine fossilised footprints and “living fossils”. What a brilliant way to end our topic on dinosaurs.
The children in Kingsway and Oatlands classes thoroughly enjoyed their re-enactment of the Great Fire of London. After forming a human chain to transport water from the River Thames to Pudding Lane, our model bakery was set alight. It was absolutely fascinating to see how the fire spread from one building to another and gave us a great insight into what happened in 1666.
